The spectacular and scenic West Coast has a rich history forged by people who have built thriving communities and industries in one of New Zealand’s most challenging regions.
With resource-rich land and waters, the West Coast economy is supported by strong forestry, fishing and mining sectors, with agriculture, tourism and manufacturing also major contributors to regional GDP.
Kānoa – Regional Economic Development & Investment Unit is working with the West Coast to deliver sustainable economic growth by developing a more diverse economy.
