Wild, rugged and beautiful, the Chatham Islands are the most eastern part of New Zealand, lying far out in the Pacific Ocean close to the International Date Line.
Fishing, agriculture and tourism helps sustain the local Chatham Islands economy, but the region does face constraints due to its small population and its distance from other markets.
Kānoa – Regional Economic Development & Investment Unit is investing in the Chatham Islands to help improve its infrastructure, digital connectivity and add to its attraction as a visitor destination.
